The racist bl got discontinued
To readers,
I humbly accept the criticism that several scenes in Episode 1 contained disrespectful depictions of other cultures and people. Even if the direction and themes of the story differ from what you may be concerned about, I have decided not to launch the work, as the fundamental limitations of this project's premise are clear. I believe this situation has revealed my complacent attitude toward human rights sensitivity when handling a specific era and setting, and that my storytelling lacked sufficient care and nuance. I am deeply ashamed. In my eagerness to focus on the characters, I failed to fully recognize that I was replicating problematic historical contexts and representational tropes found in past works. I also deeply resonate with the criticism that the characterization in question was not something to be treated lightly within a genre. What I had told myself was passion for the stories, I now recognize as arrogance. I was not as prepared or as careful as this story required me to be.
I apologize for any displeasure caused to you, and I will carry this reflection with me as I continue.
Sincerely, JAXX
Well...how long till people start making videos about how twitter harassed an innocent artist who didn't know any better and that black people are sensitive?
And there are people brining up codename Anastasia to compare to a real life historical event where people die for human rights. These people istg. 1 reply
Ah... I'm glad JAXX decided to stop and reflect when they did, but seriously... who looked over this, a work which has gotten a license and approval from whoever the publishers were, and thought it'd be appropriate to release????? it's so insensitive.... reply
Imagine being an author and not knowingly making a racist story, you cancelled it because you know this story should not continue and your "fans" just asked why because that racist story was a masterpiece ️ reply
It's good that they apologized, but making this did take months of research and thought put into this, the author was clearly doing all of that racist stuff voluntarily. But I am very glad that the author is apologizing and taking down Song of the Wasteland all together. I hope the author makes a new version and makes it more historically accurate ...... reply
I genuinely haven’t seen anybody defending this story yet but ik they’re out there, at least most ppl understand how gross this is. I don’t accept their apology btw this was so insensitive and gross, and nothing can rlly make me forgive racism and ignorance to this degree. 1 reply
