The plot of A Wizard of Earthsea follows Ged, an arrogant young mage from Gont. After recklessly summoning a shadow demon that nearly kills him, he spends years fleeing and hunting the entity across the archipelago.
we had the novel for our lit class! i loved this so much i read the entire series!! while there is nothing wrong with whimsy too, this concept is so much more raw compared to harry potter despite both being set in fantasy worlds and i like that it's so interesting and i hate how underrated it is and ursula k le guin was truly ahead of her time, no one was doing it like her... creating dark skinned leads even while the media was critiquing her for it!

ursula k le guin is genuinely a genius and it's sucks so bad that the only to screen adaptation this book series got was a whitewashed mess by ghibli
