The decision is final despite the mc being ridden with anxiety. What’s done is done, and this is the safest choice… probably. With his heart pounding and his legs burning, he runs. He runs until he can’t think anymore, carried by instinct and memories that should’ve been long forgotten, he finds himself dragging his feet on the sand of a beach.
The beach was empty, unsurprising since it was currently pouring rain, yet it didn’t feel empty. Waves crash upon the shore as the MC finally takes a moment and… breathes. The salty sea air was soothing to his throat, sore from crying, and a sense of nostalgia washes over him.
He is so frightened and has no idea where to go and for a moment death almost looks like the only way out of his torturous life so he walks and walks until he is standing on a bridge looking at the sun coming up
OMG IM SORRY I WAS TYPING WHILE YOU WERE PROBABLY Is it fine if there are separate stories? Well anyway, I’ll continue ^^
Perhaps running was pointless. Where would he even go? MC was sheltered, and he knew that all too well. He wasn’t an idiot, sure, but he wouldn’t be able to survive in a world where he doesn’t know how to live as a “normal” person.
Maybe… Maybe he shouldn’t live at all.
He finds himself staring into the murky water under the bridge, likely filled with all sorts of garbage and knickknacks and everything else of the like. He finds himself pitying the ocean.
The ocean is a beautiful thing. Humans even depend on it to live. So why is it that we corrupt the very thing we need to survive, turning it into a borderline garbage dumb that serves no one. And despite this exploration, the ocean can’t do anything about it. Why? Because the ocean is water and nothing more. Lovely water, yet water all the same.
Without thinking, mc climbs up the fence that should prevent people like him from jumping in the water. The disgusting water. The water turned useless by greed. He pushes himself off with closed eyes, but strangely enough, doesn’t fall. He opens his eyes to see…
