I don't mind a bit of uncertainty, but if the ending is just completely left open to interpretation I find it annoying. Like I want an author to say something with their work, and open endings can make that feel kinda wishy washy. U can be vague or metaphorical with an ending so u have to do a bit of thinking to get it, but at least have SOMETHING ......   1 reply

Open endings are really hard to be done right honestly, sometimes it feels like a cheap way out without putting an effort into the story When a story is extreme psychological or very angsty I can get past it, however, romance with open endings 8 times out of 10 is just a way of saying I’m sick of this story I’ve done half of my job so take t......   1 reply

I hate them with passion, like I want a closed ending not to be unsure of what I just seen. Open endings are just for lazy authors who can't think of a proper ending for their story line.   reply

can be beautiful if done correctly. i went through my read list and i did have a hard time finding some, but for example my god (asada nemui) and a shoulder to cry on. but open ending are somehow better in movies tho, like the wailing maybe?   reply
