What's your opinion on religion?
My islamic friend suggested that I read about religion and it's really beautiful but genuinely, no shade, I'm sorry religion is the most horrible thing that keeps us from progressing as a society
I hate religion with every fiber of my being. It's just a bunch of stories born from people's imaginations, created to explain the unknown and to comfort themselves about death. it's ass and i hate the way almost all parents try to force religion onto their children, it's disgusting, as someone who's got a very christian mom. and wdym they be worrying more about someone they've never seen signs of instead of our planet and society problems 1 reply
To me, religion is something people use to find 'answers' to things they don't understand or don't want to comprehend. 'What comes after death,' 'who made us,' 'do other worldly being exist,' 'who's doing this to us,' 'why is this happening to me'
It's a coping mechanism. Why ponder and suffer trying to look for answers when you have the one thing...... 1 reply
I'm culturally catholic it comes with being born in Italy and i studied religion all throughout my elementary school years and I went to church because in the summer they would hold fun stuff and even through all that i never even pretended to believe in it. All i got is the catholic guilt. 1 reply
ive never felt deeply about religion, I physically cant imagine the presence of a god, even if I try. so its a meaningless debate for me. I havent studied any other religion except Christianity but a lot of the scripture I read, I dislike and disagree with morally, so it further deters me a way from trying to understand it.
