What's your opinion on religion?
My islamic friend suggested that I read about religion and it's really beautiful but genuinely, no shade, I'm sorry religion is the most horrible thing that keeps us from progressing as a society
Religion is for poor people guys. Just think of it as a way of keep people in check. That way people won't think the injustice won't have consequences. Actually there are lots of other uses of religion like political issues but I won't even get there I could write an essay about this reply
Well since i'm on this site i'm by no means some conservative religious lunatic but it does move me. I loved the stories of Saint Martin + the prodigal son as a child. Also when Jesus helped the poor and just generally his teachings of treating every human with respect.

I’m religious, for me it’s spirituality, there’s comfort in knowing that there is something greater than just this life, it gives me a reason to keep going kinda, I don’t really care if ppl believe or not because many ppl have good reasons not to and I respect it, I’m of a mentality of live and let live honestly. reply
I don't believe it should be globally or even nationally organized, but local at most. It shines the most when it's individual based. However, engaging with text and scriptures (across cultures) alongside dialectical material analysis with a heap of your own personal woo woo guidance is very fun! You can still learn a-lot from the books, veneration...... reply

I really don't care about it BUT, I just find it weird that the country I was born in literally worships it when religion is the reason why we were colonized for so many years, plus I'm pretty sure there's more churches than hospital here, like are we really prioritizing the church rather than hospitals???

It's a coping mechanism for me, I'm not religious though. I find religion hypocritical and contradictory to itself, while also well, man made. I don't really care if people believe in it cause if that's their belief then it is yours only. As long as they don't force me to believe it, my grandma does though. Oftentimes it's many people's way to feel less guilty about their crimes or wrongdoings. Like being homophobic because "it's not in the bible" or stuff like that. reply
