curious has anyone else dropped something bc of commenters?
i love comments too much not to look at them but wow some of the comment sections (on here and other sites btw) is such a shit show it puts me off reading the manhwa. bc wdym you're debating whether that's rape or not TT like ik what i'm reading and i'm never ever going to sugar coat it but to see something that's obvi rape and ppl state that it's not is so wild to me.
also the comments are for ppl to leave their opinion so idk why it's so frowned upon for ppl to call out rape or full on shit on the ml rapist? it confuses me bc yeah i am reading it but i also understand why ppl would want to shit on this? like let them? you want to simp over him and others want to shit on him. calling out the rape is always better than those excusing it imo but there's always this overwhelming wave of ppl in the comments acting as if the former is worse than the latter.
and btw saying that's not rape (when it very fucking obviously is) is not an opinion but a lack of education. that's not the 'opinion' i'm talking about bc it is not an opinion it's just factually wrong.
anyway to answer my own q yes i've dropped shit not bc of the manhwa itself but bc of the comments :( and it's only when the majority of the comments are insufferable </3
bruh the wetsand comment section almost had me dropping the manhwa it was unbearable looking through those comments and seeing people with zero reading comprehension or people straight up dropping slurs left and right. I just stopped going through the comments all together 1 reply
In my experience comments are usually useless as Hell, barely ever do they actually give you a heads-up or content warnings or anything, they all just expect everyone to be fine with any and all types of content featured in some shitty slop because "it's just fiction," like yeah no shit that it's fictional, doesn't mean I can't feel uncomfortable b...... reply
I didn't rlly drop this cuz of the comments (I had no plans to keep up with it in the first place cuz it's ASS!!!) but speaking off dookie comment sections, first thing I see after logging on today I'm scared bro I'm so fucking scared

well in some stories where the ml is a rapist and a person comments about it, the replies are just "No ones asking you to read it" or "Everyone has their tastes" these replies just piss me off because fym someone actually likes reading rape slop... and some people in the comments just being throwing around slurs for shits and giggles just to convin...... reply

Comment section won't ever sway whether I read a story or not. Rarely would I consider dropping after reading a few comments cause I only lightly scan the first 4-5 comments to get a feel of the story as perceived by others, then I read and when done I then might actually dive in and read full comments a bit. Because I limit comment info before I...... reply
not really. if anything, seeing conflict in the comments makes me want to read something even more because i want to join in and give my two cents ദ്ദി◝ ⩊ ◜.ᐟ
i don't mind explaining why something is rape but i hate that we even have to explain something that seems so obvious.
