I'm trying to write a good climax for my story where they defeat the evil rich people but I can't come up with something that doesn't feel stupid because it feels like no rich person irl that's done evil shit has ever been punished in a satisfying way for it. Like the shit my characters have done has been done but worse in real life and despite everyone knowing what they did no one has punished them or done anything about it. It feels too much of a fairy tale to imagine them actually being punished socially or legally and killing them doesn't make sense for the story at all. idk how should my character defeat the evil rich people. Do I give them something they love and have it torn apart as a result of their evil deeds? that's just not enough. ugh help me please
If it were me, rather than write about punishment, I'd write about the loneliness and desentization (? becoming less sensitive) that comes with being rich.
I feel like it's very easy to write, oh rich person becomes poor after doing bad thing, but as you said, realistically, that's not gonna happen. However, what I do believe is that there is a different and profound kind of loneliness that comes with the selfawareness that everyone from your family to your friends to your business partners are going to be around for money. And even if they aren't initially, they will eventually.
Even family members, can you really say that when you're on your hind legs and a life's fortune is behind, they aren't waiting for you to croak? And if you're really living around people like that, then is it really comforting to be around someone you wonder about if they want you to die?
I mean, this is one thing. There are a lot of internal problems that come with having a lot of money and financial stability is really only worth around 1/3rd of a life. There are probably other better ones but that's all I can think of right now ᕙ( • ᗜ • )ᕗ
woah woah woah let's not get carried away here. This post is just about writing advice. where in the world did you get the idea that i'm horny for a billionaire with 1 month to live and no children for his wealth to go to???
okay but jokes aside real justice for rich people basically doesn’t exist irl, so don’t chase “punishment”, go for “they lose control of the story” instead. Hits way harder and feels true.

Yah. The only thing I can think of (not a writer btw) is for something bad to happen to someone they care about as a result of their actions or another rich person stabbing them in the back. Then they lose their cool and make poor rash decisions to get revenge or whatever, and the other rich people give them the cold shoulder because what rich person cares about loyalty when it’s a losing investment? A lot of rich people’s wealth comes from connections, not an actual stack of cash, so being betrayed is basically losing wealth. Sorry if that didn’t make any sense, I’m tired. Basically rich person go crazy and other rich people drop them like dookie because they aren’t really friends
