When my classmates used to compliment darker skinned girls "black beauty" Legit had me so confusedddd... I kept asking them "wdym by that?" and it's like empty up there. Granted, they r kids who would just say the same sht whatever adults say, but man it does suck to develop critical thinking skills early as a child lol So freaking backhanded tho
Lord, I've met a lot of wonderful black people and a lot of my favorite actors/singers are also black people, but I will never forget the day a black girl in glasses turned to her classmates and said, “Most of East Asian culture is actually black culture because before them, Africans travelled to China and brought civilization to them. Before then, they had inhumane practices and lacked societal structure. That's why most of East Asian culture is appropriating black culture and asians should respect their black origins.” (It was something like this, it was way more rambly but that's the juxt of it)

Nah, I get u cuz I see videos and comments like that(especially on TikTok). And honestly, I think it's just a small minority of black African ppl who believe that. But I do get irk whenever they say that asian ppl stole cultures from Africa.. when there's a lot of asian cultures who got their culture ERASED, and besides that, we have a rlly rich culture(just like every other race and ethnicity). Why is this even a conversation?? Like who started saying this sht? I'm so confused. And ofc there's gonna be similar cultures, that's literally caused by out ancestors trading, traveling, colonization, and etc. Nobody is "stealing" a culture .. (ig except for one race.. )
