Letz talk about first reading obsessions??
It’s crazy how you look back at the stories you used to love and suddenly you really feels Harry Styles song “you know it’s not the same as it was.”
I was in high school when I first got into visual stories like webtoons, web novels, manga, and manhua, and I definitely had a specific type back then. I was obsessed with the damsel-in-distress/CEO trope. You know, the FL has a one-night stand with a CEO, gets pregnant, raises the baby alone, and then years later the CEO finds out he has a child. Or she gets forced to marry him. That trope was everywhere and I ate it up. Then there were the ghost bride stories. I remember being so obsessed with Bride of Hades. And of course, the world ruled by cats. That one will always have a special place in my heart TOT (i miss being in hs huhu). I also loved the transmigration stories set in ancient Egypt or China, where the FL suddenly becomes a king’s concubine or something equally chaotic. The Pharaoh’s concubine had me so hooked wherein I even saved up points on an app just so I could finish that one. Then there was Imitation, which really had me going upside down, I just loved that story.
It’s funny because my taste in stories now is so different from what I loved when I first started reading. Thinking about those stories is honestly nostalgic. Now, I read lots and lots of stories with gay guys lol. Crazy but I used to avoid the bl genre HAHAHA CRAZY HOW THINGS TURNED OUT TODAY
What about you guys? What were some of the first genres or stories you became obsessed with? And has your taste changed a lot since then? ヾ(☆▽☆)
Used to be obsessed with BLs, realised women are superior to men and that stories featuring them were more interesting than stories featuring boring ass men and also I came to the conclusion that GLs are more peak than BLs so I then became obsessed with GLs and now I only read them. ️
Aside from the romance genre (aka GLs because idgaf about ot...... 2 reply
I used to be obsessed with straight romance, but as soon as I found Yuri and Yaoi in my life. It totally changed me. I still read occasionally straight romance, but nothing compares to my favorite gay romance stories!!!

My first series was vampire knight lol I remember being really into vampires and started reading vampire bl/gl. That’s what got me into bl/gl, at first I thought it was strange because I had never seen a same sex couple, so I was very curious and eventually it led to me also finding out my own sexuality. also a romance story called 100 days in E...... 1 reply
I was so innocent back then.... My type in fictional men were molded after Kyou in Black Bird. He was the IT guy and every anime guy I doodled on my notebooks looked like him. I thought he was so hot and Misao was so lucky. I was soo into that story, I checked it out from the library to enjoy constantly. My first intimate scene was when Misao and K...... 1 reply
I’ve always been someone who enjoys reading action/fantasy manga and watching action/fantasy anime. It all started for me with anime that used to air on TV when I was still a kid. Back then, I liked stuff like “Fairy Tail,” “One Piece,” “Inuyasha,” "Detective Conan" and so on. Later on, I got into straight romance stories. These days,...... reply

Honestly?? SAMEEE, bro, I was OBSESSED with the "one night aand gets a baby out of it" trope, but I eventually got mad bc, for some reason, my frontal lobe developed and I didn't like that the mom was always an idiot that depended on a 5 yo boy. One story in particular got me mad, I don't really remember why, but I think someone was about to hit he...... reply
