how i went from unemployed to making $1 (true story)

So here's my situation. I'm unemployed, broke, watching my bank account do absolutely nothing. Meanwhile I'm scrolling on tt watching influencers make actual money just by talking to a camera, doing grwms, being funny, whatever. And I'm thinking, that's it? That's the job?

Only problem, I don't want to show my face, and I am not funny at all. So I did the next best thing and started a manga recommendation account.

First few videos got maybe 15 to 200 likes. Not much, but it was a start.

Then I had an idea, stop being nice about it. Make a video actually being honest about the popular BL everyone's obsessed with right now. Because let's be real, most of it's mid, and I have opinions.

Posted it. Woke up to 6,000 likes. Also a wave of hate comments, but engagement's engagement.

So naturally I made a part two, this time talking about the BL I actually like, since apparently everyone wanted to argue with my taste. Got 3,000 likes and a bunch of new followers. Made another one. Another 3,000. More followers. People being nice in the comments for once.

Videos are consistently pulling 40,000+ views now, so I finally qualify to make money off this. I can apply for brand deals. I'm getting free stuff from tiktok shop and all I have to do is make a 30 second review.

And honestly, the whole formula is, tag it right, and recommend the most niche, toxic yaoi you can find, because that's apparently all anyone wants right now.

So after all that, the algorithm, the hate comments, the emotional labor, I am one dollar richer. (But keep in mind this comes with a price, I got death threats for calling one of the most popular BL rn mid)
