Why are we like this? T_T

I love the queer community, I really do. It's where I belong and where I feel safe. But sometimes, we're too accepting.
Like, what do you mean you've diagnosed yourself with 15 different mental illnesses without proper education and now you're calling me autistic because you saw me do an embroidery of a flower on my shorts? Some times it's just an interest. Like, I have a personality of my own.
The mental health awareness movement was meant to make life easier for the disabled. It's not a trend. I know being queer is about acceptance, but this is not something we should accept WAAAAH ╥﹏╥

i completely get what you mean, but i feel like if the queer community is sometimes like that it's because the rest of the society really stigmatizes autism and mental illness in general and they REALLY push it on queer, like, "if you're queer you're sick" or things like that and SOME of the queers are actually impacted by this type of disrespectull remarks and convince themselves that it's true (to protect themselves ofc) but they think that if they are maybe sick they have the right to tell others that they are sick or autistic too that's how i see
i hope you can understand what im saying ╥﹏╥

I do get what you're saying
I think all of us thought the same in the beginning, but now it's reaching a point that the struggles of people who actually deal with mental health issues are being minimized because of these people.

What does that have to do with the queer community????

Willow August 19, 2026 9:21 am

I'm just saying it's more common in our community. It goes to show that we have created an accepting environment, but it is annoying at the same time. I'm just sick and tired of every single one of my habits being labeled as being "gay and autistic".

Literally go outside or interact with other queer people because this is so easy to avoid and completely harmless. Lots of queer people are more accepting of mental health because we aren't as narrow minded and judgemental because we're already oppressed/stigmatised. (Which can cause mental health issues) Nobody is calling you gay/autistic seriously, just stop interacting with people or community who do that because it's normally only directed to other queer/autistic people as a joke.

Babe, I get what you're saying. I'm just criticising SOME people in our community. That's part of creating a safer space for our fellow queer people.

One of the reasons it bugs me this much is that so many 30+ year olds use these labels and act all immature and go hang out with other queers a lot younger than them. It's kinda creepy and predatory.

I'm not trying to be neither queerphobic nor ableist. The call is from inside the house, there's no need to be so guarded.

Majority of the queer people don't accept those people too?? Like nobody even does I'm not sure what side of the queer community you're seeing but it's definitely a minority.

I hope that you're right. I really do.
