TW: mentions of sexual assault, stalking and threat's of harm.
Disclaimer: this story is born from me wanting to explore a situation where a overall bad person is harmed and explore how people react to imperfect victims and also how people would react to a situation where consent is taken away during the act. This story is also meant to explore the yandere love interest trope.
°°°°° Okay so the storyline is about a woman in her late 30s she's a mother and a business woman, she's very much a emotionally neglectful mother that occasionally physically abuses her child due the fact she did not want to be a mother at all she gave in to her husband wishes but she's extremely disconnected from motherhood and she tries to spend as much time possible away from her child and most of that time is spent at her job (still undecided what it should be) i think of her as a business woman, cynical and judgemental maybe even classist she looks down on others while also perceiving herself as cultured. Anyhow at this job she starts getting strange calls from a man, all he says are threats, sexual threats but somehow she finds herself listening to them, after giving birth she felt as if her husband was taken away by the child and very much felt undesirable and she takes this phone calls as proof she's still desirable to the point someone would call her work just to make this threats. Im thinking at the start she's scared but there's this underlying pleasure in being desired that makes her keep picking up whenever this strange man calls, she even touches herself and starts dressing up more and more to the point her husband starts suspecting an affair. I'm unsure how it goes from here but i do know the moment she actually meets this man who she basically consented to for the phonecalls she's scared because now this isn't just a fantasy in her job phone he's real and a threat and she's doesn't want him.
This is actually really interesting and feels like something that could belong in Penguin Classics. If I may pitch in some ideas? I hope you make us, the viewers/readers try to understand her. Like her actions are explained so we feel like, "Ahh so this is why she does this," but don't make her exempt from her consequences just because she's pitiful in a way. And it would be interesting if the person who threatens her and maybe becomes her affair in the future is actually someone from her own circle. Make him dark, and make his side of the story compelling too. like make us readers go "ahhh" when his side is revealed. I'm also curious to see how the children would turn out, having to grow up in that toxic environment. And maybe make her husband lowk connected to the stalker too?
minus the possible(?) dark romance, i love stories about mothers that are disconnected from "motherhood" who were essentially "coerced" into having children due to society's and familial pressure on women to give birth to kids as early as possible, expecting every mother to do all her obligations as a mother and to go above and beyond for a child when they never wanted one, its sad but makes for an interesting story because its sad it'd be fun if this supposed "sex offender" is actually her own husband using a voice modifier to "test" her and seeing her give into all of this only makes him more mad and it drives him angry to the point he ends up killing her in the end and ends up loathing his daughter too cause she looks just like her mom
That is an interesting turn perhaps a bit too out there but interesting for sure, also no romance!!!! Mc isn't in love with the phone guy she's in love with the feeling of being desired

lol, we def need more stories w fmc's that have no romance, i can count on 2 hands the amount of stories that have it its kinda unfortunate cs all stories w fmc's that have no romance always end up being bangers
Solid premise, the way you’ve grounded her complicity in something specific (feeling erased post-partum, craving proof of desirability) instead of just “she’s drawn to danger” makes it feel like real character work, not shock value. The one thing I’d figure out next is how the calls escalate into him actually finding her, since that’s where all your themes converge. (=・ω・=)
I think I'll go with the premise that they work at the same place just very different ranks. I think he'd start stalking her after work and the go from there. But yeah it's still all up in the air for now
So the mother is also the type to suffer from 'maternal jealousy' not only seeing the daughter as something she didn't want, but someone that was taking her place and role, I think this is really interesting and would make a good short story, my only questions are how would the guy on the phone know what she is wearing, or is she just doing that for herself? Does the guy have any dirt on her about something she did wrong or is he just simply harassing her? And does the daughter play a minor or major role in the story?
I always thought at this creep as someone who works with her but a lower position. It's meant to play into how she views this men as a fantasy but in real life this man is like every other man he's average at best not that interesting and just a guy like someone you could pass in the street and forget about a second after. I do think at one point in the story the guy will get some dirt on her but it's still all up in the air for now. As for her daughter i think she'll mostly have a minor role as this being that she feels took her life from her and her desirability as a woman

I'm glad your making the guy average, as usually I series like this, the guy is someone who is ostracised and the most hideous monstrosity known to mankind on the outside, because this ugly behavior can be done and hidden in plain sight, someone who you just wouldn't suspect as their so ordinary

I hateee that trope well he's ugly so obviously he's also a bad person, ew ew ew ew, everyone has the possibility to be evil even me and you, to not consider that possibility is to not reflect on ourselves and our morality and as we should always be working to be a better person

Exactly, I really do hate how the trope is still going strong even now, it really shows how society really views you based on which looks the majority deem as attractive or ugly, plus the trope is just boring, it's extremely easy to tell who the antagonist is this way and it doesn't make things interesting at all.
i like that the woman is presented as tired of her life and neglected, wich leads to her engaging with this stranger because she lacks the attention she neds i also hate very much the husband and i can only feel pity for the poor child who's just born in the wrong situation and didnt do anything to deserve a fucked up family like that </3 i feel like this could be a real life scenario for a lot of neglected women so good job on your writing i guess
Hm. Seems... interesting, actually. I find this a fascinating idea. I love morally grey/clearly flawed characters or fmc's. I'd (probably) read this if you're planning on writing it. idk how to feel about the creepy guy calling her, and I hope her daughter finds her happiness. And the husband..? Idk what his character is like, but he seems a bit hopeless and shitty to me. He wanted a kid even though the wife didn't. But in his defense she didn't say (Or at least it's not disclosed that she said) she didn't want a kid. And if he isn't planning on getting a divorce, even though he thinks his wife is having an affair and mistreating his daughter
The creep is an awful man who feels justified in his creepiness because mc feels wanted in those phone calls but the fact is he won't stop at just that. As for the child i have a rough idea of her future and she has somehow of a happy ending although in this specific story everyone is going through something. The husband is a very typical all American dad he ignores his daughter mistreatment because that doesn't fit his view of a perfect American family and so he'll ignore the affair too

Hm. I hate the creepy man, and feel a somewhat understanding of why the mc would want to be feel seen and or wanted, but she's just being wanted by the wrong person. I also hate the husband what a bum
