Why are there no long running bl mangas?
Obviously there are but i mean why aren't there more, it feels like the only romance mangas that get more than three volumes are bullshit for men. I'm reading old ass yaoi and a lot of these are at least 3/5 volumes long.
GL has the same problem, most stories end in 3 volumes only, I think only straight romance stories usually last longer.
Better for them to wrap up properly rather than having them drag on and on with stupid bullshit added until it bloats the fuck up though ngl. 2 reply
idk, all the manga bl that i read are no longer than like 3 volumes and it's pissing me off so bad bc sometimes the stories are so good and have sm potential but no they pack everything in 7 chapters it's so raging i wanna explode reply
iirc if it's manga specifically it's got something to do with the publishing industry in japan. It's a competitive market and BL magazines publish only quarterly, monthly/bi-monthly. Most authors have to plan a complete story/series preplanned within a year or half a year, hence the usual format of 4-6/7 chapters. That amount is just enough for a t...... reply
