Rising toxicity of kpop fans

Ok so like im not a kpop fan or anything but like years ago in 2020 my bsf was
so i did listen to some songs she liked and recommended and some i also liked after listening but I've never been one of those persons who like yk idk how to explain it dawg
but like it's the same with pop music as well if i like a song by a singer i don't follow them or like listen to every single song by them
like it's just too much work for me
so anyway
me and my bsf drifted apart so now i only come across kpop songs like on trending reels or something
and like this new girl in my class comes up to me in school and starts all being like "hey do u know bts"
i was like yeah (tbh ive only heard butter and dynamite but ik them right she didn't ask if i was a fan) and then she asks about enhypen ( and ny ex bsf loved enhypen in 2023 to 2024 ish and then we stopped talking so yeah ive heard a few of their songs )
and then she was like wanna sit with us
i was like sure
like i didn't know anyone in that class and seems like she knew a few ppl somehow idk
so everything's fine and all
and then they start simping over idol's pictures? like specifically jake sunghoon and i uh forgot the name but he looks like a cat ( not hating i mean in a nice way) and like saying stuff like he's my future bf or husband all that cringe stuff and like showed me a tiktk of like idk y/n and some weird stuff like ur forced marriage with idk an idol
and then one of them asks me and was like who's ur bias
i just politely said that im not that into kpop but I've listened to some of the songs
and then idk what all of them started being weird and when class ended they were like u can't sit with us
i was like sorry? (see usually i would have just gotten up but idk why i did that )
then they just started criticizing me saying how fake i am and people like me are the worst fans and i unnecessarily hate on their idols
LIKE BRUH
i never said i was a part of their fandom and yeah I've only listened to a few songs and i didn't said i hate them or something like are we not allowed to have our own fcking opinions and choices?
Anyway this is where i should've just gotten up and left
but did i? no
i got up told them how delusional they were for thinking that these idols will marry or date them and it's disrespectful to see an artist for their face and looks instead of their talent and how they'll just spend the rest of their lives watching these stupid y/n BS
like maybe i shouldn't have said that
but like come on we're 17 and like seriously
was i wrong guys?
or should i have made it clear in the starting only that im not a fan when that girl asked if ik them?
and im not saying ALL fans are like this but they're definitely some immature ppl who like idolize a person and except them to be their bfs husbands or perfect
bro they are just ppl that u dont even know personally like
i think ive said enough
