do you guys also feel disgusted when reading smut?? like not all the time, I personally enjoy reading smut, but sometimes I think about my parents and oh my god I just can't read it it's so disgusting. and I feel disgusted about myself when I keep reading it because my parents probably did all that. Or like it's not even smut, but I suddenly think "oh this character looks like my dad/brother" and I can't stop thinking about it!!!! And most of the times they're nothing like them. And I also feel insecure while talking about this or just about anything I feel, because I think people are going to think I suffer with it. Like no, I'm not 24/7 thinking about my dad and it's not even that disturbing, but what if I'm making all this up and I don't actually feel like this??? Omg does anyone relate to this?? It's fucking exhausting
For me, sometimes when a character is way to similar to my family, or shares the same name as them it automatically makes me feel uncomfortable bc it's like their doing that and I have no need to be thinking allat so I get you
sounds like intrusive thoughts to me, and you’re not the only one who has this!! maybe u can do some research about it :) it could also come from some internalized shame maybe and even some form of ocd? just know that you are not your thoughts and give yourself grace! you’re not weird and you’re not alone trust me :)
