lemme rant for a second because lately things have become so annoying in this community
since when have we become so comfortable with demanding authors to change their story? like I genuinely don’t get it. so many people keep complaining about how a story is going, or about how they think the author failed, am I the only one who genuinely finds this super disrespectful? like you people don’t own this story, or the characters included in it. the only one who genuinely knows these characters completely is the author because they INVENTED them. they know what story they wanna write and why they write certain things, you guys choose to read a story someone else came up with. do you guys also go onto sites like ao3, read a fanfic, decide you don’t like a part or an ending and complain about it to the author? who gives you the right? this story wasn’t made for you specifically, you can’t go to someone playing with their dolls and tell them how they should play? you people always talk about SA and Rape but you have no boundaries yourselves. nobody is forcing you to like this story or (keep) read(ing) it? you should learn that from the moment you don’t like something anymore to just not engage with it anymore. expressing your opinion about something is fine, you can be disappointed, again i’m not saying everyone should like this story, but there comes a point where i’m like..what do you guys want honestly? you wanna make authors afraid to publish the stories they write? want them to feel like they have to keep everything a certain way so nobody is gonna be able to say one bad thing about it? grow up people, these are fantasies, fictional stories, NOT REAL, authors decide what their story is gonna be about, you only get to decide whether you wanna read it or not. alright thanks for coming to my ted talk I had like 3hrs of sleep so excuse me if this comes off badly worded

You're using scenarios that dont fit the situation. People are mad at the author because they romanticized sexual assault and rape, not because they made Character B say "fuck you" to Character C. And this is a public story meaning everyone can see it and give out criticism. Fiction DOES affect reality because stories like these where rape is sexualized warps people's perception online and irl that "rape is hot" (speaking from experience.) And they also fetishize gay people who are REAL, so that should be enough proof that fiction can affect reality. "Dont read/dont engage if you dont like it" is also bad to say because ANYONE can give criticism especially if it's on a story handling a serious topic weirdly. If we don't engage, people will continue to think this kind of stuff is "ok" and "hot/sweet", no one calls them out, real gays, couples, and rape victims will be affected by the fetishization. I get what youre saying, I agree ppl shouldn't harass authors, authors should have the right to creative freedom, but hating on their story for no reason and harassing them over it vs constructive criticism because they sexualized and framed rape/abuse as " hot" and fetishizing a traumatic scenario is very different.

soo with this whole bs of our lists and stuff being gone I wanna start saving lists of my manga/manwha’s that I read/wanna read somewhere outside of this site so I don’t lose them again, how are some of yall doing this? at first I thought abt just making a word doc or just in my notes but maybe some of y’all have better methods?

I used Google Sheets.
One sheet is for basic info. The title, author, link to official (if there is one), whether it’s a manga/manhwa/manhwa, and the basic tropes/genre (student X student, historical, Showbiz) and whether I’m reading or finished.
The second/third sheet is basically like on here where it shows the cover photo of the story, author, and my rating for it. I have these separated by ones I’m still reading and ones I’ve finished.
So one I get my list back this is what I'm doing!
I use baka updates, they provide more information for each work, sometimes their library is limited
added bonus you can see ratings and reviews
Yess it’s so convenient if websites ever go down or I’m wanting to find a specific story.
If you’re good with excel/sheet formulas, you can make it even better but mine is pretty basic. I wish we could post pics cause I’d show what it looks like
