im not ready to grow up. what should i do?
i’m 17 and i recently started picking out colleges that i’m considering going to, and then it dawned on me that i’m actually growing up. it kinda hit hard, i feel very sad and unprepared. i keep thinking about how i don’t feel ready to make these big decisions everyone wants me to make, ive spent my whole childhood having fun (which im grateful for) and figuring out who i am and i feel like i haven’t had enough time to be ready to go into the real world. i feel like adult life is much harsher and judgmental, i feel like people will judge me for not being where i should be at when im an adult. i seriously don’t know what to do and im running out of time. any advice?

it’s funny this is my advice because although i don’...... reply
hey, I was in the same boat as you a few years ago when I was applying for colleges; trust me, once you start your post-secondary life, you'll realize that no adult knows what they're doing either.

College is just another stage of figuring out who you are. Life is really just a series of stages of self discovery. It is totally okay to not feel ready yet, and you can take your time (depending on your circumstances) in figuring out your next steps. There is nothing wrong with taking a gap year before college, or not going to college at all. I r...... reply
