Homophobia or normal?
For past few months Many things have been triggering me whenever I see Manhwa edit or even drama (bl one's) on each edit there's always someone crying why the Manhwa is bl I see comments like "why bl" "nooo it's bl?", "Why does it have to be bl" things like that and other phrases that just pisses me off To the point I have been avoiding comment section on edits that have been viral because it somehow triggering me. At first I thought it was just their preferences (I can understand that and respect) But Why would they comment stuff like that In an obvious bl edit?, Their disappointment feel like they are being Dismissive. And I feel like it's somehow linked to Homophobia because, also the fact that They want Everything to be straight for their own tastes
It is homophobia. There are many people who exclusively read queer stuff, do you ever see them commenting "oh no it's straight" "why is it hetero" on an obviously straight edit? No right 2 reply
OH ACTUALLY ITS A TYPE OF JEALOUSY.
there was a study that showed that newer generations only consume content that represents them and get frustrated when something isn’t relatable.
ie -“ Why are protagonists always brown haired with blue eyes! I have brown hair and hazel eyes!!! I won’t read that!”

homophobia can exist in many forms and yes this is one of them. hets won’t ever get it and privileged queers (or those with internalised homophobia) think this isn’t a big deal when it is. micro aggressions can cut deep in any form of discrimination and it’s important to notice the patterns leading up to bigger aggressions. reply
Some people can't stand that not everything in the world is made for them, and in sone cases it seems like they can't even fathom something not being made FOR THEM, one guy I've argued with irl just kept complaining about guy media that was clearly made for the gays and the argument just devoled into me repeatedly saying it's not made for you and h...... 1 reply
hot take, if you hate/disdain/physically cannot read a genre that encompasses someone's identity---you need therapy. yeah its homophobic, bro read to read, why are you thinking about oh is it bl, gl, het or queer? like this doesn't apply to preference, of course, because then youll be like ok cool i would read that but i would rather read a differe...... reply
The internet is just fucked up. You’ll have people complaining about gay stories and then on the other side you’ll have people commenting weird shit like the ‘thank you computa’ the second two people of the same sex (whether they’re together or not or even minors) are seen together.
Some people just won’t ever like seeing bl or gl (not...... reply
Not saying this to defend one point or another. Just offering a possibility. An actual answer as to why people express disappointment when something that caught their eye turns out to be "bl".
It is just not their thing. BL, I mean. It's not for everyone, after all. Just like how I'm not into horror bl. Or horror anything, really.
