Sometimes it happens that I’ll be watching something or reading something and I just become invested in the couple.
Like I find them super cute and don’t get tired of them.

So, who are your favorite couples?
They can be from any media (books, comics, live action, movies, heck even a celebrity couple).

I own a few yaoi mangas. The newest one I’ve bought is Jackass by Scarlet Berico.

After my dad passed I started to really think about my own mortality.
I have a lot of merchandise from different series and I always ask myself what’s going to happen to it all when I’m gone.
Some of my most current merchandise is from series that are popular right now, but will anyone know/care in a few years?

It’s not that deep, just random things I think about.

Hey there, anyone fans ( or maybe just like watching) Criminal Minds or Law & Order: SVU?

If you do, who are your favorite character(s)?

For me in Criminal Minds I like pretty much all the characters. The only ones I actively disliked was Kate (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Gideon.
But favorites are Reid, Prentiss & Rossi.
As for SVU, I don’t really like Benson, but favorites are Carísi, Barba, Lake.

What about you?

Seeing all the hoopla with n3wtoki being down, the threat of this site going down, apparently bato being down, it made me curious, why do we pirate?

Usually it’s a money issue, but sometimes it’s more than that.

For example, in my case, I read a lot more than I actually care to buy.
I only buy the ones I truly want to own.

Secondly, sometimes I really want to buy, but I hate the translation. That is especially true with Chinese series. I hate when they anglicize the characters names, but I also found it h jarring and quite frankly how everyone had a Korean names in Lost in the cloud except for the main characters. So due to that, I wouldn’t buy the series.

Thirdly- quality- Along the same vein as my point above with the name changes, sometimes it feels like the translation is too embellished or they’re trying too hard. I remember when Lack of Love was being published someone pointed out how lacking the translation was. If we’re paying for something, we are assuming we’re getting the best quality (isn’t is one of the digs to fan translations?) I’ve heard the translation for MDSZ is not as good as the one put out by ERS

4th- I don’t even know how to label this one- I just want to vent- so last august (2024) a certain small publisher announced the license of the Codename Anastasia novels. I’ve been wanting to read them in proper English (I haven’t been able to find a good fan translation for the first 4 novels). So they’re not very forthcoming with their communication. They released volume 1 in April 2025 then volume 2 in August 2025, so I figured, 3 months between releases is not too bad, but after volume 2, there have been no more announcements. These novels aren’t particularly long, and I’ve seen decent fan translations done in about a month’s time and these fans have lives outside of translating, the companies doing the translation you have to assume that’s all they’re doing. Anyway, if they’re going to take their sweet time, fine, but at least communicate with your customers. I know for a fact I’m never buying anything from them again. I can’t even be sure they’re going to deliver the rest of the novels (I just want them to drop 3-4 so I can be done with them).

So yeah, reasons?

I personally prefer anything uncensored or only mildly censored. Not a fan of lightsabers, but when it’s a colored comic, at least you can differentiate what’s what, but in black and white, there have been many times when there is nothing there.

I don’t get people who prefer censored, like what is the point of reading porn then?

And no, I don’t particularly find dicks appealing, but I do prefer having uncensored sex scenes in my porn.

Honestly I’ve read mostly BL novels, but not all.
These are the ones I’ve read ( that I can remember)

There is one I read which I cannot for the life of me remember title, but the plot was this:
Guy keeps having sex with another guy in a dream world. I also remember that the Uke’s older brother disappeared when he was six in the ocean. Later MC meets his brother. He’d been kidnapped by the demon lord or whatever evil entity they were battling and he’d been this guys sex slave since his kidnapping. Also brother and bad guy end up dying together.

Ah Shojo

Who hasn’t read a Shojo? Sometimes something you think wouldn’t be a Shojo ends up being one. For example X/1999. It’s a Shojo, a very dark and bloody one.
Now for the stereotypical Shojo we all think about, I don’t really read it. I hate reading about some stupid beyond reason girl holding up with the unbelievably hot, super smart guy. In reality, a guy like that would not be interested in a girl like that unless all he wants from her is sex.
That is not to say in hate all stupid or shy Shojo heroines. Surprisingly, I like Tohru from Fruits Basket. She’s stupid, unrealistically kind yet it kinda makes sense why Kyo fell for her. But! My ultimate favorite Shojo heroine has to be Kiri from Beauty Pop. The story itself is not something to write home about but she carries it well. She’s unruffled, doesn’t care about what others think about her and just goes along at her own pace. Haruhi from Ouran is similar to Kiri in some ways, but I didn’t care for her romance with Tamaki. I would have much rather liked her to end up with Hikaru. Her ending up with Tamaki was such an obvious move that it disappointed me. I guess Hana from My Heavenly Hockey Club is actually more similar to Kiri, but I have not read the whole thing so I don’t know how she reacts to romance.

I’ve been at it since 2004 and have read a lot, but lately I’ve been hearing some titles being talked about and even though I know about them, I never actually read them so I got curious how many people have not read some of the classics that were big back in the early 2000’s?

Hell, the series that introduced me to yaoi was Fake my Sanami Satoh and I never read it to its completion.

I don’t usually like omegaverse for various reasons, but every time I read an omegaverse I see people in the comments asking for babies.

In my case I don’t care to see them have kids and I do get a little bothered that the consensus almost seems to be that just because they can have kids, they should.

So what are your opinions on omegaverse couples having kids?

I personally don’t care for that plot point, but I might be a minority.

So, I don’t like babies/kids and avoid stories with them like a plague. Most of the time they kids are portrayed as insufferable, thus making whatever I’m reading/watching not enjoyable, but I found myself being pulled in by Our Sunny Days, even when there is a baby present.

As of right now I’m not bothered by the baby in Our Sunny Days because she’s literally just there. She isn’t being a hindrance.

It got me thinking, what is the one series you didn’t think you’d read or enjoy because it’s not something you usually read and you ended up liking/enjoying?

Who between Zhenya and Taekjoo & Ilay and Tae is your favorite couple?

I’m asking this question to novel readers since we’ve already been through the good, the bad and the ugly, and have seen these 2 couples being lovey-dovey after their tumultuous starts, so I’ve been wondering:

Do you have a favorite?

I’m not even talking about what story you like better, just the pairings.

I can’t readily decide, but I’m sure some of you do have a fave.
