I have tons of manga & manwha. Hell, I have books in languages I can’t read. I’ve bought manga in Italian, Spanish, and manwha in German, Korean and Chinese (besides English). I don’t have a particular one I hate, but in general the whiny ones ( who also happen to be drawn very femininely and tend to be extremely stupid to boot). I don’t necessarily mind pretty ones, but the ones that are drawn very prettily and petite kinda bother me unless their particular look is part of the plot.   reply

I think yaoi has slowly moved away from that trope. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen at all, but at least most of the new series i follow either have both characters be fairly “equal” in the body type, and even if they are not, one half is not drawn super “soft” to resemble a female. I’ve been reading manga and BL since 2004, but if I’m honest I cannot for the life of me tell you one series I really liked back then. I have vague memories, but none seared into my brain as a favorite, I guess. On the other hand, there are a handful of series im currently reading that I’m enjoying and I don’t think I’ll ever forget them......   2 reply

Physical media and cable tv. Yes I know physical media is making a comeback, but I never let go of it. And cable tv, yes I do have Netflix, Amazon prime and Apple TV, but I prefer the freedom of mindlessly channel flipping and finding something to watch than the more dedicated approach I need to pick something on Netflix.   reply
