One of my "absolute super dupeeer totally favorite" writing tricks is when an author introduces a child and an adult, spends half the story building their relationship and then decides "don't worry guys!! we'll just throw in a time skip". I disagree with you.
Someone might already believe "X" and encounter a story that gives the strongest case for "not X" and still conclude "X" is right. They were challenged even though they didn't change their mind. The issue isn't agreement itself but the absence of genuine tension despite claims of profundity or what you call "complexity".

We had a version very similar to the one we use today but there was also a button that let you switch to the "old version": the original site shown in the first picture.
