Acupuncture never really helped my pain much, and I've had muscle pain and tension for most of my life. Doing fascia release work helped immensely! Look up Human Garage videos on YouTube, the full body one is amazing and will make you just melt afterward. Plus, it's free. ;) It's actually what I'm doing after I finish dinner. Getting my IUD put in. I was forcibly dilated, turned white as a sheet and broke out in a cold sweat on the table. Removal didn't hurt even a fraction of what insertion did.
