You know what's weird? The way women are constantly asked to justify their hobbies romance, erotica, etc. while men can obsess over sports, action movies, or porn without anyone demanding a psychological breakdown. I agree that "complex" gets thrown around too easily but I wouldn’t say something loses all value just because it doesn’t personally challenge you. complexity doesn't have to mean being shocked or uncomfortable every time, sometimes something is "complex" because it handles an idea with nuance or multiple layers even if you still agree with it'......   reply

I think there’s some truth to this comparison, obviously BL and porn aren’t the same thing, but both seem to attract a lot of moral judgment that can end up causing more harm than the thing people are criticizing in the first place. Yes, I’ve babysit too many babies, toddlers and even teenagers in my life, they’re all my relative’s children and my own siblings. I’ve never petsit though, I would gladly do so if someone offered me but only if it’s cats or birds. I don’t like dogs, just looking at them from afar is good enough for me.   reply
