Some say it's the same. For me, I thought BL as the main genre and yaoi and shounen ai is the sub genre of BL. So it is BL as a whole, then yaoi and shounen ai are classifications of BL.   reply

I believe it's because currently, most stories are just straight smut on the first chapter or smut after 2 or 3 chapters. Mainstream stories rn, always have them fucking or kissing in the early part of SEASON 1.
