I think it has it's own genre more-so because yaoi fans don't want to be mixed in with shota-fans. Considering how controversial it is. I think the thing about it is that most people who read yaoi don't read HS-themed yaoi BECAUSE they're in HS, it's because of the typical innocent and fluffy love that HS stories have. I agree. I know i hate the rape tropes in mangas, unless it is absolutely nnecessaryfor character development. Most of the time it's not, and the uke still falls in love with their rapist without any consolation.   reply
