In tears at the end, I remember years ago reading Yumi's story and now I don't remember much but I know his current partner helped him leave his abusive relationship. Hence, I don't remember if I actually read the spin-off about his ex next or not because of Yumi's grief. Sometime later, I've read and reread the prequel to this story as a standalone because i didn't want to feel hurt for Yumi again. But here, I loved how this story handled it, and that while you shouldn't romanticise "the abusive ex who actually was broken inside" because at the end of the day Hayashida knows that it was his actions that hurt Yumi and that he couldnt just let it go. That he harmed someone he held so dear to his heart. I liked that they didn't ask for Yumi's forgiveness because really Yumi had no reason to but he gave him that album and let him know that you can move on now from being haunted too. There was no redemption arc, no him going to apologise etc. Just that, their stories will be seperate as life goes on for both. I'm happy that Hayashida while is tormented, his abuse wasn't just written off in his own story(like the author going that now that he's in love he's perfect and an angel etc etc) they held him accountable while still treading the path of self- forgiveness (since he knows asking Yumi that would be tremendously unfair and wrong). It's a capturing both sides without undermining either. And I love them, I hope both heal and I'm happy that both have found loves that understand them :'))
as someone who has seen dv and abuse myself, the uke definitely deserves jail time lmao but whatever cus wdym you hit him for years? this story did not sit right with my spirit at all and i can’t find myself ever supporting an abuser
This fucking hurts. Closures really comes in so many ways. Yumi gave Hayashida a photo album cause Yumi knew this would put Hayashida's doubt and anxieties to a close. T____T
crying. I usually dont like it when the abuser or the bully ends up with a happy end but its dif for Kanchan, I feel so incredibly sorry for him and for Yumi. They are so precious to me I cried
Wtf. This mangaka is a literary genius! He made such a hateable character have a redemption arc. Its genius that he didnt use the name kanchan here to make a separation from he was and who he is now. love this story so much! I read yumis story years ago and i was sure im never going to read hayashidas story because i felt like theres no saving guys like him, but damn i actually like him now. I love long time friends to lovers and i cried for what yumi and hayashida lost, but this ending is perfect for them.
0. Aazami - past Yumi x Kan 1. Sabita Yoru Demo Koi Wa Sasayaku -Yumi meets Mayama and breaks up with Kan chan 2. Renai-rubi no Tadashii Furikata (ch3.1 - 3.5) - Kan meets Shuuna and turns uke - Narrow (Place collection) - dj Kan x Shuuna smutty sidestory 3. Hadakeru Kaibutsu - continuation Kan x Shuuna (Shuuna's POV as far, timeline parallel to no.2 for ch1) ------------- Personal opinion - best reading order 1, 0, 2, 3
This was an emotional roller coaster but I’m glad that Shuuna and Kan-Chan made their relationship work and that Yumi is also at peace. They are healing in their own way by their own hands.
to make this straight I don't like the uke at all, hitting his boyfriend is horrible no matter what but it shows that people can change, but if his former partner have forgave him, who am I to judge
