A Monster Series spin off of 'Love Whispers, Even in the Rusted Night', focus on Yumi's abusive ex-Seme Kan many years later. Fearing to hurt his lover & end up apart, Kan turndowns co-worker Shuuna's confession, wanna be only sex-friend. What can Shuuna do to save Kan, make him smile like that photo again?
»» Obviously the mangaka tried to revive the abusive character Kan. But the way he abused Yumi was already to the point he needs a psychologist & medicine to control. He's also not a sadist as he still can enjoy sex w/o torture Shuuna. So.. I just hope the mangaka can convince us.

Spin-Off sequel to Sabita Yoru Demo Koi wa Sasayaku and the fourth chapter of Renai-Rubi no Tadashii Furikata, this manga follows the story of Hayashida Ken, Yumi's abusive ex-boyfriend, and Shuuna Ayuma, his new lover and colleague at work. Flashes and hints of Hayashida's past come out during sex, but Shuuna mistakenly assumes it has to do with his inexperience as a gay lover and, before he can uncover the truth, he learns that he is being transferred to a different city.

They must have fixed the translations becuz I reread this and it was so good. 5 stars! And I need the rest of this!

It was sfinally finished and I just remember all the feels.

Timeline coincides with the prequel. This is done in the perspective of the beater seme, how he's also suffering from this and their toxic relationship that must end. ASAP.

Kan use to take his anger out on his ex boyfriend but he was scared of what he would do so he broke up with him. He started dating Shuuna who is a co worker. Kan is trying very hard not to become aggressive and mess up his new relationship.

bittersweet ending qAq i wish they completely tied loose ends but... maybe this was for the better. i wish them all happiness

Still not understand with the story

Reading Kan's story in order will prove that he deserves that second chance and he has served his sentence in his own mind prison. Shuuna is his much needed support and parole. You can't change my mind.

Damn, I did hope that they talk in person and stuff ༎‿༎ I felt sad about yumi he's not mad at kan-chan for what he did, but he felt regrets for not being able to help kan-chan. But I am super duper happy for the both of them, they found their own soulmates. But I really did hope that they talk with each other

This was very emotional I read the main story a while back and suddenly came back to this sequel. I guess everyone does get a second chance in life. Both of the main characters were in love with each other but they were just not meant to be I'm glad the seme on this sequel became a bridge for the two main characters to be at peace with their past. This was a good ending with happy tears in my eyes

Waaah I dont want them to break up or anything I want my babus to be happy and have lots and lots of sex :O the last one ended so sweetly

So, I really liked this because I've read the previous mangas about these characters but I do think that some of the time jumping makes the story kinda confusing.

The redemption of Kan-chan is still not enough tbh. But it's still ongoing, so I'm gonna hope. Please talk to Yumi. (and please see a doctor if ever)

Would be a five star. But the abusive parts are really hard to read even though it is handled well and everyone ends up happy. And all the characters are good people. But still, those parts are hard to not get sad about.

This is some really deep and dark stuff. Finding forgiveness in yourself for something you did morally wrong is always hard.

this and sabita yorudemo koiwa sasayaku are actual masterpieces. yumi's face when shuuna said that when kan-chan smiles it changes the atmosphere was HEARTBREAKING. god.

I wanna meet Tanaka senseii now!!

This is one of the most complicated protagonists I have encountered in a BL and it made for a very compelling story. 5 stars!

After re-reading the entire series again (including the prequel and the previous volumes), I have great respect for how challenging a character Kan-chan was to write. There is no denying that he is an abuser, and what he has done in the past was purely wrong. Many tormented heroes commit bad acts but it is revealed later that they did it for the "greater good." Kan-chan's abuse of Yumi was unacceptable, there is no story trope "greater good" in abuse.
And yet... People change. Sometimes people (with the help of therapy) can overcome their past and change who they will be and how they will act in the future. But it doesn't erase what they did in the past. That was what was so impressive about this story. In many ways Kan-chan doesn't deserve a "happy ending" but by the end of this story, I wanted him to have one. I wanted him to be at peace with himself and the things that he's done. He knows that he can't ask Yumi's forgiveness and doesn't try to ask for it. He doesn't try to escape responsibility, but he does choose to carry the burden and walk forward and that's what makes this story really beautiful.
