I'm not genderfluid so I'm not saying this from first hand experience, but from how my genderfluid friends explain and present themselves it's not so much about the clothing and outward appearance for them as much as how they feel gender-wise that day.

I'm not out publicly so nothing like what you described has happened to me, but definitely online if I mention something or when I chat in certain groups fujos can be annoying to no end... mostly it's when they talk about uke/seme things or when they compare real life relationships to yaoi, or when they put yaoi tropes on real life.
