It's a rare and special manga when I can't help but cry at the end. And, boy, oh boy, did I sob.

Un jeune chirurgien rentre au Japon après avoir étudié aux US et rencontre un jeune docteur anesthésiste froid et un peu hautain (héritier d'une grande famille) et tombe sous la charme. Mais "la princesse" lui résiste.

A young doctor with a weakness for pretty faces returns to Japan after studying abroad in the USA and joins the staff of one of the best hospitals around. There he finds himself facing off with an icy-cold co-worker who's nearly as pretty as he is unapproachable.

A drama about a doctor recently returned to Japan after a few years abroad. Upon resuming work at a hospital, he finds himself drawn to a distant but beautiful anesthesiologist, which turns into something more.

This manga was fantastic. It's most remarkable feature, as a number of reviewers have noted, is its striking attention to the details of working in a hospital, and the twists and turns of this drama are only heightened by their realistic medical setting.

Beyond this, however, is a really excellent story about finding love and growing up, learning to own one's interests and passions as well as learning to let go. It's a little slow to start and for the first three or four volumes the story itself didn't really jump out at me, but once the last third rolled around I realized that this was an exceptional manga. What works so well is the fact that the romance, while central to the plot, is ultimately not the primary focus of the story. It does have the serendipitous meeting and the happy ending that one wants from the genre, but ultimately the love between the two characters is a catalyst for the personal growth that gradually takes center stage as the manga progresses. This is not to say that romance is sidelined; rather, the romance exists in a context of a life history and its significance isn't exhausted in an all-consuming infatuation. I realize this is somewhat vague; what I can say is if you can tolerate a story that begins a trifle slow and bland and are craving something a bit more complex with some nice background realism thrown in, do yourself a favor and pick this one up. It's worth it.

Note: there is some slight - *slight* dubcon, but it's very minor. For the vast majority of the story, personal boundaries are definitely respected.

It was okay but I didn't quit like the heir. He had too many advantages that lead to indulgence. Yes I get wanting to be a doctor and help people but he took advantage of his dad's money(yes doctor's are paid well but unless your rich you have a lot of debt) to live a carefree life and then he wants to throw a fit of not taking over his dad's business when he freely spends the money. Just my opinion but I really think he wants to be a doctor but he was running away from making a real decision that would cut off his financial support. If you don't want the company speak up and if you get cut off take a loan and live your own life. Also, if not for his love interest I think he would have complained but went on back to the company. Overall, it was too cliched and reminds me of how people let themselves be swayed by or influenced by others which caused me to start skimming through the story which was getting boring.

was out of state on job. came back to meet one of the newest editions.
the cold-hearted, ice like beauty top class surgeon.
his personality as sharp as his whit about medicine.
slowly gets to know each other.

your typical, playful personality, almost puppy dog like seme
but he is stubborn, strong, straight forward, and full of life.

our ice beauty
has the brains, is a great surgeon, great with patients.
he genuinely cares about each of his patients.
which further makes him want to be an even better doctor.
but with his own life, he is indecisive, maybe a little bit weak too.

has some unresolved issues with childhood friend whom later comes to join them.
he's in unrequited love with him.
he was his sole support growing up.
the reason he was able to stand tall and believe in himself
(e's not a dick. he's good. even comes to like the guy his love interest is dating. admits he's a good guy. and a good surgeon, even entrusts his father's surgery to his partner.)

^(he's a surgeon too)

his partner awknowledges all the things his childhood friend is to him.
he knows and admits he has a permanent place in his heart, and let his lover become who is today because of him looking after him. he respects the guy.

in committed, serious relationship
