Bestie not became bestie when grown up. Delinquent (abandoned by mother) and a smartass that felt pressured became bestie from little. Now needs each other so much. Thats all. Unique but expected i guess?
High school student Toda Yuji used to be best friends with Kojima Isagi when they were young. But as they got older they drifted apart, moving with different friendship groups. Now Kojima is a delinquent who cuts class frequently and a loner who is avoided. That was until he had a brief connection with Toda while leaping out from the 3rd floor at school. Then the two boys reestablished their friendship and roamed at night doing whatever they pleased. Toda had that angry teenage, lash out vibe going; turning his back on his mother and school work, beset by nightmares of the time when Kojima saved him as a child. Kojima was a neglected child of a mother who didn’t want him. But his bond with Toda was perhaps the most real part of his life. Events escalated until crisis point with both boys in a dire dilemma. But bonds of loyalty ran true, and while there was no romance between them, it became clear that they could be good for each other. This was a darker story than expected with a psychological element and rather realistic with the teenage angst.
Old time mangas literally has one of the deepest impression of leaving an angst feelin . It's not even shounen ai I mean they didn't kiss but the feelings both of them has for each other is pure ,I was literally shocked when ita chan go to that murder place just to put himself in so tht Megane guy could be safe , I mean he really do care for him , as for me story is catching I like it I hope that it suppose to be longer.
Seems subjective. I think the direction of the story was good, I just didn't like that halfway into the story, it revolved around a dead man, but it did show It-chan's sacrifice for Yuji.
I’m giving this 5 stars! The story was extremely well presented This isn’t a yaoi, but unlike some other works of the author, it is not even clear that what the characters feel for each other is romantic love. They love each other, for sure, even so I can’t imagine them in a sexual relationship; on the other hand, I can’t imagine either of them having a different ‘lover’, or caring for anyone else more than this ‘friend’. Though I usually dislike such vague relationships (rather, I find it dissatisfying and disappointing in a story), this story was told so well that I was perfectly satisfied with the ending~!
I can't believe how well both their personalites are distinctively well thought through. They feel real, what a rarity! I love this old timey angst ssooooo much!
hmmm. idk. it gave me a melancholy type of feeling. they love each other, i know it. but...wish there were more lovey dovey moments. i do wonder about which one is the cold one? it seems they've both kind of just detached from the world and went off in their own world.
wow. really well-written story about two students grappling with rebellion and the 'right path' and relating to others. art isn't really my bag, but the story more than makes up for it.
