This feels like if that Ichiko Aoba song, Sleeping among Endives, were a manga. I liked the mood and feeling of this more than anything and I’m pretty sure some things are lost in translation because it was hard to understand at times.
Genuinely confused by the positive comments. Didn't bother reading past the first chapter and the horrible lie he told. Not cute. Not sweet. Not interesting.
So it's not bad, but its a style that I'm not really into, like it's trying to be deep and dramatic, it's just confusing to me. The characters talk about random stuff, then there's a mutual confession, and we skip to them living together in college two years later. There's some chapters of the gay dad's, too, and their story is just as random as the kids.
8.5 out of 10 That lie Sunohara told Shinomiya was so weird I was so confused I thought this was gonna be a darker story, but it turned out to be pretty wholesome. I'm not a big fan of when they refer to male gay characters with female terms (e.g. mom, wife, bride, etc.), but the way they described it I thought he was trans lmao. Thank goodness they clarified in the parents' story. Sunohara's f*g comment was unnecessary and left a really bad taste in my mouth, especially since we do end up finding out that his parents are gay too. Those are just minor things, but other than that the story was really beautiful, especially the parents' story. I like that we got to see the epilogue for both of their relationships as well. The art was very beautiful. I'm always a fan of artists who use a sketchy style. And through the generations stories are one of my favorite tropes, even though they're surprisingly very rare. This was a really nice gem to find.
This is heartwarming, but it'll be better (and i'll give it 5 star) if it's longer and have more of their school days before they both falling love imo ><
This is beautiful. Ahhh it had me teary eyed not because it’s sad but because of how sweet they all are. It starts with 3 chapters about the kid, 2 about the one of the kids parents and then ends with two bonus stories (?) about the same couples. Ahh it’s just so lovely
this was pretty good ^^ i didn't expect much bc it had low ratings but the plot was actually quite unique in some way~ i love the fact that the author also told the parents' story <33 both relationships are so pure and warm ^^ the vibe of the plot was calm all throughout like it just had this calm atmosphere idk but it was also quite fast (first couple), but i think its bc there were only 3 chapters for them so the development wasn't showed that much but i still enjoyed reading ^^ the plot for the parents is your typical editor x writer boss but it was unique since the writer was a widower so that came to play for a bit of angst but you can clearly see how much he loves motoi so >< overall this was pretty good and i think it deserves a higher rating bc it had a nice plot esp with the cute time skip for the first couple ^^ i love how sumi treasure's his parents' relationship and he wanted to protect them which is why he always kept it a secret bc he didn't want his classmates to say hurtful things to them :D i wish we got to see more of their domestic life but i'm pretty happy with their cute extras ^^ as well as sumi's dads' extra scenes >< the art style is pretty !! this was a good read !!
