I hated this so so much, and it was 100% the brother's fault. The both of them were pretty cute-ok, I liked their dynamic and most of their personalities. BUT WHYYYYY omg why did the brother had to even exist???? I would've preferred it x10 more if we got an in depth backstory of them in high school or how they actually started dating, anything else fr. Even the meeting the parents would've been acceptable without the brother.
Also, I'm just too tired of every single manga (hyperbole, not all of them ofc) being so fucking heteronormative. Let gay people exist, we don't want the straight married+children future, stop acting like that's an universal want

Yeah, and in the real world many gay couples aren't written by straight women who think gay people want to conform to the heteronormative way of living. Of course there's people with those worries, but they aren't the majority and they should not be the majority representation that exists. I've read far too many bl mangas to recognize this pattern and I'm tired of it. I have gay and trans friends living/from Japan and this is just not the reality over there either.
Its not about a gay person "wanting" to conform to a heteronormative way of living, having this heteronomrative mindset is most of the time imbedded into gay people's mindset naturally (especially people who are new to the gay world) because of what we grew up on and the things that we see and hear from the people around us as we grow older. most ppl grow up surrounded by straight cis people and thats all they ever known so its not very crazy that a gay person may have this kind of mindset at first. and you really cnat speak for the whole of the japanese gay community because of your 4-5 trans/gay friends you met online and im not even just talking baout japan im talking about all conservitive countries. But I do get your point about it being annoying but I dont think the authors are applying the characters WANT the "straight married+children future" but something that has already been inbedded into their mind that this is "the right way of living"
I really liked this! It was so sweet and soft. I wish there were more omegaverse stories like this.
