Comments of RESTART (Harada)

Imo, with this short but deep story, Harada-sensei showed what really means to be gay or, more in general, be "different" from others, taking into consideration how the look of the characters was designed. Sensei wanted to make us reflect on discrimination against those seen as "not normal" by society. I think this is the core of this beautiful oneshot.

"What is normal?" - The questions Miki asked himself are very important. In fact, thinking about it, it's all society's fault, how it imposes rules on people and the ones who don't seem to fit its standards/requirements are looked with disgust...all this is what led Miki in a corner. At pages 12-13 we see how people look at you with disgust and offend you for being "different". All he wanted was to be able to stay with the person he loves, holding hands with him in public, but he held everything inside, making jokes in front of others, a game of "make-believe", and not being honest even with the seme, to hide his feelings. [MAY SPOIL] He even went to Thailand, cause he had made a brave decision: he wanted to become a woman so that he could have kids, but that's not possible. Drunk and sad, he then got in an accident. The reason why he went there in the first place and his thoughts were touching. It's also meaningful how he lost almost all of his memories but the seme's face: he wanted to forget all bad things but his love for the seme. He came to have a few screws loose, he became like a child who says all he truly thinks...now he communicates in a honest way, saying all the things he didn't before, showing his true personality. But the seme also loves him and, after what happened to Miki, he felt regretful that he wasn't brave before. In fact, when Miki asked to move to Shibuya, after hearing that same-sex marriage is recognized by law, he rejected him, afraid Miki would say it was a joke again...
➳ At least, now they are honest about they feelings and, as the title suggests, they'll start anew! And Miki's memory is also slowly coming back!
➳ At the end, what really matters is what makes us happy, not what society thinks.
I really never read anything like this! It was so deep and unique!

Miki has a few screws loose in his head. He was run over by a tuk yuk when he was in Thailand and that led to some damage. He has lost most of his memory also. He wanted to become a woman so that he can be with his "lover".

So guy is in a sex friends type relationship and was always like no homo, I'll get married and have a family before you, but goes to Thailand and gets a tbi and comes back showing his real intentions. He wants to have his own baby with the sex friend, he loved the sex friend and wishes he could be a woman and bear children.

Really touching story. So adorable...

Deep and emotional story about the restrain today's society makes us feel when sharing our own passions and feelings. Harada was able to portray well the dread of being rejected due to what we love. Bittersweet final, despite gaining the honesty he lacked, Miki ended up losing a part of himself. Awesome hairstyles and piercings, Miki is so precious and I envy is hairdo so much haha.

Harada sensei is a genius.

After an accident in another country, a man is finally able to be honest about the way he feels for his friend, whom he'd hurt years earlier by calling their relationship a joke. It ends on a hopeful note.

So realistic and since it is Harada, my heart is on ground shattered into pieces now ༎‿༎

Oh Miki, you poor boy. He just wanted some love, what the fuck, if only you guys were both honest with your feelings. So sad. But at least, things turned out well in the end, I think?

i dont know how this has such a low rating, its so good. i thought it would be the other type of harafs work, but its just bittersweet, and it was so well done i love it

I was told this was a graphic fucked up story and came out almost crying. This is actually such a sad story.

➽ Actually, they love each other but Miki couldn't be honest even after having countless great sex together, concerning of his image. Miki once unconsciously kissed the Seme in front of others in the party so he excused it as a joke, a "Make-believe" lovers game for fun.. hurt the Seme.
➽ Anyway knew about same-sex marriage's recognized by law at Shibuya, Miki asked the Seme to move there but the Seme rejected thought Miki would make fun of him again. But it turned out Miki went to Thailand, planed to operate to be a woman & has kid which's impossible. The terribly upset Miki's dread drunk then got accident till lost all memories but the Seme's face.
➽ Whatever, in bad luck there's still good as Miki becomes honest, keeps telling "I love you" every day makes the Seme realize his true feeling. They become two love birds living happily together.. Miki's memory is also slowly coming back. Phew~ *relieve*
