Plot was interesting and not done to death and FL wasn't a brainless doormat. So why did the author have to ruin it by having the ML publicly treat her like a cheap whore for the first half of the story. For the record, as a deployed former military man, I have met and spoken to a number of "bar girls" overseas while not having financial or sexual dealings with them, and I treated them with respect. Whatever the reason a woman becomes a sex worker is, there is no reason to degrade her further and humiliate her in public. Whatever a person feels about her profession, she is still a human being and not a child molester, murderer, or rapist.
