Art style is beautiful, although the story lacked most things. There was barely any romantic attraction between the two, no chemistry either. It's like they were more friends if anything which I'd be fine with, but then again it's supposed to be romantic. I also felt as if the way we learnt about his dv was kind of preachy in a way? Like it felt as if in the middle, it became a speech to warn other people about it and it felt a bit out of place rather than fully integrated within the story. I think the context where he brought it up could've been better too, like I feel like it would've been a lot more impactful if we found out the entire story through his interactions with the mc rather than some random people. And about those women, I felt as if they were too stupid to make any sense, because in what world would you find a man who beat your friend up attractive? This is another reason why I didn't like the entire thing and why I felt as if it was preachy because rather than a deep emotional conversation about the effects of dv it goes "omg i love abusive men" "no... NO! Don't be like me.. please choose better... >///<" I'm exaggerating here of course but idk the immaturity just irked me. Also, I think the side characters and everyone else pissed me off too? How was there not a single person okay with mc's appearance? Why were all the women in this manhua depicted as really frail and weak and crybabies?
I think it tried to make a statement about appearances and domestic abuse, but I think it never managed to delve deeper, only ever offering superficial takes on these topics.
