a compelling social commentary on the kind of grungy, nihilistic atmosphere that governs listless delinquency. 'when the present is already your past' super unique art. i loved it and how its cynicism sucks the light out of you the same way life's been sucked out of these delinquents. the film is more cohesive and hopeful without losing the surreal yet mundane violence that made this manga so singular. preferred the film but still think this manga's a good read.
