one of the goated BL of this generation. im still wondering how on earth i only got around to reading this in 2026 when it first came out in 2013… ^^ this might sound exaggerated, but given is genuinely one of those BLs i keep coming back to. ive reread the manga, rewatched the movies SOO MANY TIMES and somehow i still cant get over it. the first time i finished the manga (after reading for 11 hours straight)… i genuinely felt like i was inside the story. i dont know if its just the japanese coming of age magic, but it got to me so deeply. i literally couldnt stop kicking my feet, and my chest felt so tight the entire time i was reading holy shit. i dont even relate to the characters that much.… but mafuyu’s quarter-life crisis in volumes 8-9, i felt him REAALLy deeply. ill never get tired of this kind of japanese coming of age story, no matter how unrealistic some people think it is. because imho given isnt just about romance, it tells a complex story about grief, love, anger, confusion, finding the courage to move forward, every emotion just kept piling on top of another until it felt like someone was twisting my stomach /gen. and because i personally prefer reading over watching, the manga hit even harder for me. every sequence, every panel, every single stroke of the artwork felt alive. i could feel the excitement before stepping onto the stage, the anxiety, the loneliness, the overwhelming passion… everything. even before watching the movies, i could already imagine how intense those scenes would be. it honestly felt like i was watching a film instead of reading a manga. i could hear the drums, the guitar, the bass, mafuyus voice, the music echoing through the venue, and even the audience holding their breath. it was such… such… SUCH an incredible read. this manga unfolds so many complicated emotions about life, love, passion, hobbies, choices, fear, dreams, grief, motivation, and so much more. its just… so, so good. i honestly still cant put into words why this story resonates with me so deeply. my heart was racing from beginning to end. what a wonderful read. exactly the kind of story i needed after being stuck in a reading slump for days

uenoyama bener bener dah cinta banget sama mafuyu, oke mafuyu udah mulai lupain past dia sama yuki tapi ga bakalan sepenuhnya hilang gasih? masih ada bayangan dia juga..yah gmn ya namanya first love susah dilupain apalagi dia bun dir ama perkataan mafuyu (egiluy), itu agak mati konyol dia itu punya masalah mental (?) kan yang ngebuat dia kena influence sm kata katanya mafuyu, yah untungnya mereka udah happy ending hehe, apalagi gw suka banget sama si itu hiiragi ama cowonya lupa woi namanya!! gw suka bgt sm mereka dan juga itu mantannya si drummer GW LUPA LAGI NAMABYA JIRLAH, gw suka banget sm dia si pemain violin itu
