Art was weird at first with the alien shaped heads and odd proportions of the ladies, though the men were ok. Then chapter 83 completely different artist made all the women child like and the men looked more muscular and older. Around 91 to the end of main story the art change again and made most of the characters look ok. Then in the art style changed again in the special stories, which at first looked odd but then ok, only style I didn't like was the "childlike" women, everything else was passable. Now for the story I actually enjoyed it, Elissa was neglected growing up and given a chance to escape she took it through the marriage and was willing to try her best. Showed she can be stead fast and because she gradually grew more confident her talents shines through. I liked Ginger as well, he may of not shown much interest toward Elissa at first and though he didn't expect much from her, he truly was not into the romance, at first. The ability to switch bodies kind of forced them to interact and finally get to know each other that ended up nurturing Elissa's feelings and in the end was able to capture Ginger's heart. And gold points for Ginger to accept the change and understand fully the cycles his wife, women in general, would go through from the period, fulfilling her duties and constantly socializing. I liked that the misunderstandings, unlike other stories scenarios, in this story were interpreted by the main characters as compliments, positive views, and not completely understanding the situation as good intentions and was the plan all along. I really enjoyed those parts. The other characters were ok, but majority people that were involved in neglecting and abusing Elissa sucked ass,.mainly her father and the mistress with her daughters. I liked the main story, a bit confused how Elissa was a "dark" and they solved the many problems at her home country, but it was still pretty good. I do wonder how the "war" that they were fighting was going while they spent a great deal of time at the Grandia, and we saw a full blown baby bump while at that country then never again until she returned back to Landell.
Next in to the epilogue stories. I really loved how committed Ginger was to experience the birth for Elissa, and even the postnatal care, breastfeeding until the body was in stable condition so his wife would be comfortable once she was back in her own body. The most upsetting thing about the extras was Lupella with her tantrum and lack of understanding as well as being selfish. Grenick, the man she said she loved and chased after for so long, was studying to be a noble and create a strong alliance for the future bestowed upon him by the queen but instead of offering to help and involve herself with the plans, because she knew what he was trying to accomplish, she was just moping around. Like girl be for real, then when he proposes she tried playing hard to get, when some would say is understandable because she chased him for so long but his situation, mainly status, really interfered so much, Grenick was trying hard in his way to assimilate into being a noble her their future together. I do believe that the "big" proposal was messed up but it was a major valid reason, and Lupella was just really immature and should of shown class and patience and be a strong pillar. But no she just cried, refused to understand that specific situation then did not acknowledge how deeply Grenick felt sorry, accept the apologies and ran away. Like bitch he was stressing so much, in a society were he was a commoner and had to hold back for so long to then by the grace of others that he now feels grateful for deeply that helped him become a noble of course it'll take him time to adjust. Then while she was back at the Gwayne mansion, spending time together especially to learn magic, she noticed Lehan's feelings for her. Then Grenick shows up apologizing again, Lupella cried and throwing a tantrum, and just as she was about to accept gets taken away by Lehan. While floating not demanding to be return, Lehan confessed and she didn't turn him down, but instead asked to be shown around some more, even willingly going with him to his tower because she didn't want to go see Grenick, just selfish. As time went on she continued to be around Lehan knowing his feelings but not taking them seriously but still stringing him along and openly flirting with Grenick but also not shooting down Lehan's obvious attempts in front of Grenick. Like bitch you know that you're going to marry Grenick but even Grenick was not sure and instead of clearly turning down Lehan's earnest feelings, Lupella openly makes a pass on Lehan and has the audacity to tell him that he doesn't truly love her leaving Lehan confused because she did not reject him clearly, like bitch who do you think you are. It wasn't until she's getting engaged at the ceremony that Lehan asks for clarification in front of everyone, and they just explain because they know Lehan is "socially awkward", no people Lupella should of shown respect by taking his confession seriously and clearly rejected him.
Anyways, Elissa was a bad ass, really strong, Ginger was a great husband, taking on childbirth for his wife, and their baby was hella adorable even if they gave him the name Garlic. I wonder who would because ruler of Grandia once the grandmother passes her thrown, as well as what would happen to the Gwayne estate.
Besides my long ass rant, I still enjoyed this read.
