Original Story and Spin-Offs

Cute and pleasant story about a very agreeable 17-year-old student, Shouta, who falls for Mihara, an elementary school student-teacher who is experiencing an identity crisis over his sexuality and goes into a gay bar out of curiosity. Unfortunately, this manga has not been updated in ages, and because it hasn't yet been licensed in English, one must assume that the scanlation team has either, gone defunct, dropped it or restricted access.

Sequel to Koi no Jumon, but recently updated so more likely to be completed. Also, very cute story even if the uke is a little teary.

You have to hand it to Ao, once he decided he was in love with his old friend and neighbourhood Buddhist priest, Ryoumei, nothing but nothing will get in his way. It's Ryoumei who needs to be coaxed into releasing the iron-clad armoring over his heart, and he won't hear of it as long as Ao is not a legal adult. Plus, the biggest obstacle of all is that he isn't gay. Also, there are unresolved family issues. This story takes its time developing the lives and circumstances of these characters.

Tanihara owns a shabby corner smoke shop and confectionary and takes care of Chisuzu, the cute daughter of his ex-wife. Older, careworn and hemmed in by responsibilities and circumstances, Tanihara has no hopes for the future, no dreams left, no thoughts that there may be someone out there who could love him. That is, until he meets Dr. Takafumi Saji, a new physician at the local pediatric clinic, who's gay and attracted to Tanihara's 'type'. A mature and easy story about real adult men.

Yorokobi wa Hiza no Ue follows the love story of Orito Kouki, a waiter who works in his mother's bar, and Mitsuru, the older brother of Kouki's friend, Yuzuru. The boundaries of brotherly love and duty are explored as Mitsuru tries to be dutiful to Yuzuru in a way that Kouki's own brother, Aoi, cannot be, as Aoi's love for Kouki is transgressive. Katou Setsuko's storytelling is realistic and subtle, and this story is a very satisfying read.

This sequel to Yorokobi wa Hiza no Ue develops the story of Orito Aoi, whose inappropriate love for his younger brother, Kouki, led him to leave his home and move in with Sagara, an older man who loves him. Their relationship is constricted by Aoi's past, however, and by the imbalance of power as Aoi uses Sagara. Sagara sets up some boundaries which force Aoi to change, just as Aoi receives a few hard knocks from Kouki and his mother, coming to self-realizations. Better than its predecessor.

Cherry tomato popping is the theme, along with shy buttocks and a battle for the top.

Sequel to Cherry-Poppers, Rui and Saeki are like oil and water, but Rui is easy-going and compassionate and Saeki is on the rebound. That's enough of an emulsifier to marinade this chopped salad.

After a long absence from archery, brought on by the agitation of his unrequited love for Reiichirou, Haru finds himself back in familiar territory as the student adviser of the archery club at the high school where he teaches when he comes across the younger brother of his foresworn love, Tsukasa. Tsukasa has been nursing a secret infatuation with Haru for years, and with Reiichirou out of the picture, uses Haru's proximity to press his advantage. What happens when Reiichirou returns?

This story furthers the adventures of Reichirou, as told through the eyes of Jinnai, a kimono salesman from the shop which Reichirou, the eldest son of the company's owner, now manages. Jinnai's reaction to losing out the managerial position to such a young man starts off as irritation and envy, but evolves into attraction and love. This is tested when rival Kijima appears , and when Reichirou must confront his familial duties with their plans for an arranged marriage.
