Many stories use their side characters' unrequited love to illuminate the reunion and happiness of the main couple. The journey of the protags sometimes takes our attention away that the pain of these characters simply appears to be "necessary to drive the plot." It may not have been the original intention, but this short oneshot reminds me of how, many times, we are brought out of our saddest times by those who are not the brightest stars in our relationship constellation.
Being too shy can result in 2 extremes: either we go beet red and start rambling random words, or go poker face but are actually chaotic and streaming internally lol. I can definitely relate.
"As summer ends, a new season for you and me begins" aww... I went off on a tangent thinking abt how hard to be truly happy when we protect ourselves too much in a relationship is, and as equally hard to be safe when we love without sound judgments intact. Its sometimes necessary to venture outside our comfort zone to obtain opportunities for a better future, yet its draining having to keep doing sth unpleasant. It struck me there's sadly no 'perfect' way to live.
I love how the author does not hesitate to confront tough questions and let Sunati & Austen resolve issues by honest communication and action. The narrative is so gentle, it feels like soft feather caressing your cheek, as you let the author's lovely music carries you away in a distant & faraway land where their story unfolds. Kindness, acceptance and love are blessed to every panel as you read, engage, cry and smile for every milestone this adorable couple reaches together.
