LITEARLLY MY CHILDHOOD. yotsuba is the epitome of every shameless 5-year-old child whose words carry the blunt force trauma of four simultaneous molar extracts. it's so fucking fujnny because literally nobody, not even like side-characters that appear for one panel and never again, have absolutely no idea how to handle her.
LOWKY REMINDS ME OF YOTSUBA IF SHE WAS LIKE 2% MORE NORMAL, AND SHE WASN'T LIVING IN A WORLD WHERE SLAPSTICK CHARACTERS ARE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.
can i be honest. this is probably one of the few relationships out of this specific shoujo fantasy drama of "strong questionably moral dad + young daughter" fulfillment story that i genuinely enjoyed. probably because the girl is a little shit, and the father isn't morally bankrupt to the point where i literally want to wear his colon as legwarmers in new england winters.
okay ngl mangago said i literally read this before but i genuinely can't remember this, so i gotta reread to review.
only on ch.9, and all i gotta say, that pair of violent brothers are my favourite.
okay ngl. i don't really care much about the child and his very questionable half brother. i'm more or less obsessed with that ex-delinquent lady who has a crush on MC as slapstick.
(ch 16.9) okay but i love the relationship between the entire family. like,,, LMAOO THE DEMON AND THE ACTUAL DAD'S RELATIONSHIP IS HILARIOUS? it's not like weird romantic undertones (idk, i just felt weird about it since it's clear the family hasn't moved on from their passed loved one, which is their mom), but he clearly accepts him as some weird extension of family. similarly with the brother.
THIS MANGA. THE PARENTING IS SO GOOD BECAUSE THE DAD DEVELOPS INTO A REAL PARENT SINCE HE LOWKEY SUCKED ASS LMAO
both single fathers are struggle bussing parenthood, especially given that each of them individually are not the best at parenting :sob: LMAO. anyways, i love their friendships, as well as the scary dad's relationship with not just his daughter, but his friend's son
tbh i don't remember where i left off, but honestly, 10/10 attempted parenting from both parties, even if the kid feels more like a parent at times
Yotsubato!
