A failed one night stand brings Chu to the life of Ziming, a fashion designer. Notable for the way the two impact the other. Ziming hires Chu as an assistant, and the user Chu becomes necessary to Ziming's work and heart. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Such a favorite of mine that gives me the same feeling as A Thousand Cranes.
A masterpiece. A freaking masterpiece of emotions and feeling that never veers into diabetic sentimentality or becomes maudlin. Overwhelming in a beautiful way, these are the people I know and love too. The two old men were beautiful and sweet. This is about a gay teen looking for himself. Almost committing suicide, he witnesses a woman jumping and finds himself at her door, where he finds community and family.
Sublime.
Sublime.
The story here isn't told in linear fashion, which makes it fun and frustrating because of its very nature. These are not light, airy-fairy stories of various shades of melancholy, mental health issues and abuse, and love, so go into it understanding that you are really going to love it, or it will confuse the hell out of you.
I treasure this. A doctor can see the numbers which indicate a person's life span above their heads. He meets a patient whose numbers he can't see, who lives in a world where life spans can be cut short.
Amazing story of survival when two brothers are prostitutes in ancient China.
Powerful, powerful story of two boys and the power to heal.
This is an exceptional love story between an Amish young man and a cynical, jaded prostitute who is really a dancer at heart.
Sequel to Rumspringa, with Danny's brother, Gene.
