This one was beautifully done. I immediately bought the paperback when I finished reading. realistic plot ✓ dynamic characters ✓ draws out the readers emotions ✓. I want more but at the same time, it's perfect the way it is.
Tropes: fated lovers, second chances, redemption, emotional scars.
Shikke is a god. The ratings speak for this one. It's just a nice story with some character depth. the clincher for me is that I'm weak for a soft top.
Tropes: opposites attract, different worlds
this story reminded me there are good, genuine people out there. every now and then i need a feel-good story with just the right amount of angst as a break from the messed-up stories i gravitate toward. i am itching for the next book already.
another feel-good story to break up the dark and twisty stuff. i thoroughly enjoy this series and i like the characters. my only complaint is that as much as i love a slow burn, this is one of the slowest romances i've ever encountered. however, that fits the "plot-driven" description so here we are.
I'm not usually a fan of 20-year age gaps but this was a nice story. There was not a particularly unique plot or characters but we love a feel-good slice of life.
Tropes: age gap, imaginary love triangle, different worlds, sunny vs grumpy.
A unique romance between a blind man and an assassin.
