nah the plot is kinda cheese, BUT LIKE TAERIN IS SO GOOD like she's SO funny. the author also focuses WAY more on the two MCs' internal monologues, as well as the thoughts and POVs of the antagonist. for a plot that NEEDS romance as a plot tool, it has little romance and rather is focused more on social commentary and interpersonal relationships outside of the two love leads
honestly this is rlly nostalgic for me. i just remember reading it when it was coming out and i LOVED it. it has an insanely realistic social setting and therefore heavy social commentary that's portrayed through various people with varying levels of privilege or life experiences. even the antagonist is just a product of circumstances (still a bitch tho), and therefore grows as her environment changes. also MC's reactions are funny to watch LOL
this is like. the most normal and stereotypical romance plot on this list that ACTUALLY focuses on romance between the two MCs. but it's super cute? like oh my god this is SO nostalgic like it's really cool and the FL is so lovable like i LOVE her so much? and the developing friend group and how everyone interacts is just SOOOOO CUTE? like i feel like most school-life romance plots don't focus a lot on developing other characters or just,,, normal high school communication and lif

THE MYSTERY, EVERYTHING IS JUST SO GOOD. like i CANNOT explain it. it has the same mythical thematic aesthetic as the newest Barbie movie that i havent even watched but FELT resonate deep in my soul
a literal hot take on the worst coagulation of romance tropes and stereotypes that not only is spun into satire, but is totally crack taken seriously by everyone but the author and it SHOWS. this is SO good
i think there's something interesting about how the MCs are compatible through their very unique natures of both being on the opposite extremes of selfishness and selflessness. also i LOVE saxophone players. like dude, jazz is SO good and i just think saxophones (bass and baritone) are fucking COOL
this is unique because it's a romance based plot- like romance is the MAIN dynamic and struggle and becomes a massive thematic issue since this is a comedy with social commentary undertones about women, relationships, and job-life. anyways it's FUNNY asf and for a plot that centers around romance, NONE of the three leads really get into a dating life in the main timeline and romance is backburnered as a lifestyle, and rather, as a discussion topic. also the characters are just way too funny
NAH THIS IS LIKE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ROMANCE PLOT, WILL 100% REREAD. it's SO good like the author is a COMEDIC GENIUS like the random ass NPCs in the bg who do the most RANDOM shit while there's an entire dramatic plot happening in the frontlines is just so funny. also i love how the artstyle, esp how black-haired MC is drawn.
imma just copy paste the review i left for this on another list: MC is legit like. the most realistic portrayal of a woman without very specific skills to help her along the way, and instead, just the endurance of a woman in a society, regardless of time period. the way she handles issues that transcend time such as sexism, misogyny, lgbt sexualities, and classism are so good and so set in reality as an individual with little freedom. also i LOVE the ML. he's so sweet and kind
i LOVE gangsters/scary looking buff ppl regardless of personality. but secondly, i LOVE ppl who have a personality to match- aka the FL. also like i'm in love with her interactions with the other women of this story, and in general how quick she is to respond and shut-down her entitled and classist ex. aka she NEVER miscommunicates. and ML is SO sweet, i'm genuinely in love with him 2 LOL
