Mori thinks that if she were in a shoujo manga her cute but shy best friend, Mari, would be the protagonist and herself the FL’s average best friend. The ML would be someone popular, not a playboy like asagiri but rather someone approachable and nice like his best friend Ootani who happens to have a crush on Mari. Unfortunately, who we like is out of our control.

MC and ML are two unlikely friends. Both run in different social circles and aren’t even in the same class. However, due to their shared love for movies, they became fast friends. Until MC asks ML if he has a crush on anyone and his answer is entirely out of MC’s expectations.

i only read the first season
personally MC’s unrequited love is super relatable. Inexplicably falling for someone u’ve never even had a full conversation with, then being unable to stop staring and noticing all the small things about them but also never intending to get closer or ever confess or date them. wanting to see them all the time yet going out of the way to avoid interacting with them. acting colder to them than to everyone else while ur brain begs u to stfu. aaaaahhhhh
