I remember reading this when its still ongoing and really liking it (not that I don't like it now) and then reading it till the end and I thought "yeah..that's make sense and realistic ending if you think about it".

This. I can confidently say I WILL enjoy it more if the mangaka did not put the SA at the beginning. Ruined the whole thing for me.
At this point I think the mangaka train of thought probably goes like "I need to make the ending beautiful with tragedy, but also degenerate fetish at the same time". WHY does BL normalize SA. fucking hell. Consent is sexy, have they never heard of that before..

The vibes on the last 20+ chapters of this danmei is pretty damn dark (at least that's what I think) that I almost lose hope for HE (happy ending). you might not think its dark or anything. we have different take on certain thing.
note: its best to read without reading the summary of this novel.
