My five stars

A prince grew up fascinated by stories of a lost city in the desert. He sneaks into an expedition to go look for it, but the desert turns out to be tougher than the land in his fantasies.

A kid suddenly shows up on Ikeda's doorstep, with an injured hand and a violin that he says only his twin brother can play - but one day he suddenly picks it up and starts playing. An interesting multiple-personality drama.

Another in the pattern of sequels that I like better than the originals. I think I enjoy reading about stable relationships better than the awkward beginnings. The art style put me off this author for a while, but now I'm glad I picked it up. I particularly like how music brought them together.

I like how events progress naturally in this one, as if things just realistically happen (rather than convenient plot devices being dropped in by the author). The cultural notes about Japanese TV are interesting too.

I actually give only four stars for this manga, but the final chapter one shot would earn five stars because I love how it portrays the challenges of intercultural communication and dealing with east Asian indirectness as a foreigner.

I really got hooked, staying up until 3am to catch up to chapter 52 in one day. It's a complex setting but the author does a great job laying it out gradually as you get to know the characters and the roles of their families.

An emotionally repressed college student learning to speak up for himself. Trying to use math to reason out your relationships really doesn't work out, but I can relate to his thought processes.

The third in the series, following Kimi ga Koi ni Ochiru and Kimi ga Koi ni Obereru. I didn't realize this part existed until a while after I read the other two, but luckily this one works well as a standalone story too, so I wasn't too lost.

Starts off as a very trope-y rape-turns-to-love relationship, but gets more and more interesting in the later volumes with stories about the various people involved in the high-class gay escort club called Blue Boy.

Mycology = the study of fungi. It's a unique and beautiful setting for a love story. I also like all the other stories in here, especially the one about fish coming out when people are asleep.
