gorgeous art that makes your heart throb for lyrica and lydia. it really is a punch in the gut seeing this mother-daughter couple struggle to face the consequences of the feelings and actions they've both endured. to me, this is a story of a truly kind-hearted daughter (cliche but done well) who wants to love her mother whole-heartedly, but they are ultimately both human.

very pretty art and a heartbreaking tale of shuli navigating realistically portrayed struggles of her responsibility. every loose end is slowly being tied (bitterly), and you WILL shed tears seeing her and her kids (especially jeremy) earn eachothers spots in their hearts. a very well made story and an excellent example of characterization done well.

tear rating: ONLY after chapter 150
yeah this is a rollercoaster... penelope is an amazing character in every sense. you will cry watching her despair again and again when her goal of only wanting to stay alive is crushed right in front of her face. ugh i cant put it into words how well-written she is. reminder that the story didn't get tears out of me until after chapter 150.

tear rating:
a cute read on the surface by will have you REELING for the fl at times. it really is a realistic portrayal of being betrayed: she goes back and forth, considers hallucinations, is unable to part with her stepmothers tenderness; all of which paints her as a timid yet righteous character. not to mention you feel a lot for what the family suffers.

a lovely story but it suffers from not taking full advantage of the traits it gives each character. haven't read up to the most recent chapters but you will bawl for this fl god damn (she goes through it...), and you're tears feel earned and not cheap pity.

(not manhua) by far the saddest one on this list. you will bawl your eyes out. the epilogue genuinely had me sobbing uncontrollably. emi and remillia just want to happy bro. even when their souls are apart they truly just want the comfort of the other person, and the art is BEAUTIFUL. just read it i assure you, you will cry.
