i was crying all throughout this. they care for each other so much and the circumstances they're thrust into will have you bawling. ive said this in my main BL list but the story is written with so much intimacy, you feel each person's grief to such an insane extent. the art is just... ugh everything about it is perfect.

romance takes a backseat to show the flawed, unfortunate, and sheltered margaret grow into responsible, capable mag, and you end up rooting for her so much. spoiler: so many panels are just jam-packed with emotion: her judging squall, choosing to jump into the water the second time, the poison being passed, the ever-present shooting stars. i couldn't stop crying.

on the way to meet mom is a love letter to every mother out there, and also, to every lovely circle. the atmosphere and art and mori's simplicity--just waiting to be painted in--brought out occhiolism unlike any other story I've read. OTWTMM is a comforting hug, a warm cape, and a wishful star for every person out there who believes in a mother's embrace. this story made me get up and hug my mom.

yang il-woo and I will chop your heart into a million pieces and boil it with a fistful of noodles. two broken people who love the way each one of them is so very resilient in the most despairing of circumstances. had to reread chapters because my eyes were blurry.
